Pip at Treehouse Hotel Manchester Recognised in the MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland

Manchester’s produce-led, modern British restaurant Pip, by acclaimed chef Mary-Ellen McTague, has been included in the Inspectors’ latest additions to the MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland, announced this week.

Since opening earlier this year at Treehouse Hotel Manchester, Pip has quickly established itself as a standout dining destination in the city. The restaurant celebrates the heritage of the North West, with contemporary seasonal cookery. Signature dishes include the Grilled Dayboat Fish with braised fennel, verjuice and cockle broth, and the indulgent Crab and Lobster Thermidor Pie with lemon hollandaise and grilled gem lettuce.

The very best of the region’s produce, sourced from trusted suppliers such as Littlewoods Butchers, Organic North, Courtyard Dairy and Kindling Farm, is used to craft Pip’s menus.

Led by proud Mancunian chef Mary-Ellen McTague, known for her previous celebrated restaurants Aumbry and The Creameries, as well as founding the charity Eat Well MCR, Pip combines sustainability, innovation and local heritage in a welcoming setting. The all-day restaurant offers a relaxed yet refined atmosphere across its restaurant, lounge and bar spaces, from morning through to evening.

Speaking on the recognition, Mary-Ellen McTague, chef partner at Pip, said: ‘“We’re over the moon to be included in the Michelin Guide so soon after opening! It’s an incredible honour, made possible by the dedication of our amazing team and the support of our wonderful suppliers. Working with them to showcase the very best of the North West is a daily joy.”

Pip’s inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide can be viewed here, and the MICHELIN Guide announcement for August additions can be read here.

This recognition from MICHELIN builds on Pip’s growing reputation, which has already attracted high praise from national restaurant critics including Jay Rayner in the FT Weekend and William Sitwell in The Telegraph.
