The UK’s leading cultural hub of food, drink and entertainment, Freight Island in Manchester, is proud to announce a series of exciting new food offering and cultural programming this Autumn.
A first for Manchester city centre, Freight Island will welcome ‘Seconds’ – a new modern take on a carvery; available every Sunday where guests are invited to tuck into quality roasts of their choice with unlimited access to all the trimmings. Perfect for those who would like to come back for seconds.

Order with the chef directly as they carve the mighty mains including roast topside Highland beef, marmalade-glazed gammon joint, roast Cheshire turkey crown, and roast squash & wild mushroom Wellington. Following this, guests are free to help themselves with an unlimited access of all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, buttery mash, greens, honey-glazed carrots, petit pois, and 48-hour gravy.
The carvery is hosted up on the terrace where guests have an amazing bird’s-eye view of the platform, however guests are free to sit anywhere they like at Freight Island. The carvery is offered in three sizes, £11 for Kids (small plate) with a choice of one main, £18 for Adults (regular plate) with a choice of two mains, and £21 for XXL (massive plate) with a choice of three mains.
For those who like to have cheese on anything, for an additional £4, guests will also have an unlimited access to the big pot of molten cheese, poured over and torched for extra melt. Further extra sides available include a giant sharing honey-mustard pigs in blankets, and a sharing sage and onion stuffing dish, both for an additional £4 each.

The carvery is available every Sunday from 12pm until 8pm, launching on Sunday 3rd September. Bookings and walk-ins available. Reserve your arrival time here: http://www.escapetofreightisland.com/food-and-drink/seconds-sunday-roast-carvery.
Completing the cozy and relaxed line-up on Sundays, DJ and presenter Matty White takes over the deck for his weekly residency Lazy Sundays.
