Dishoom brings Family Matka to the table this Easter as families celebrate with a feast

Dishoom is bringing a little extra magic to the Easter holidays, with a chance for families to win a free meal.

From weekdays running Monday 30th March to Friday 17th April, families dining across all Dishoom cafés and Permit Room locations can take part in “Family Matka” a playful twist on the much-loved game of chance, reimagined just for little ones.

Roll a six, and your meal is on Dishoom (for tables of up to 12).

Families visiting Monday to Friday before 6pm can ask to play at the end of their meal, with children (under 11) taking the lead. If the dice lands on six, the entire family bill is wiped and if not, every child still leaves with a small surprise, from marigold seeds to stickers.

All cafés are designed with families in mind, making them the perfect place to dine together. Little ones can enjoy smaller portions with gentler spice, including favourites like Murgh Malai and Paneer Tikka, while adults have the full selection of Dishoom’s much-loved menu from vibrant salads and street-side snacks to comforting curries and full-on feasts.

“Chicken and Crémant is the new champagne and fries” – Manchester is leading the new trend with Butter Bird

Manchester’s trend of indulgent “high-low” food pairings is evolving from champagne and fries to a new standout combination: chicken and Crémant. At Butter Bird in Ancoats, this pairing has become a defining concept, with rotisserie chicken—tea-brined, flame-roasted, and finished with rich, flavourful butters—served alongside crisp, elegant French sparkling wines. The acidity and fine bubbles of Crémant cut through the richness of the meat, enhancing its savoury depth while refreshing the palate. Supported by a menu of bold, complementary sides and a dedicated Crémant bar featuring regional varieties, the experience is both elevated and accessible. With its growing popularity, particularly through events like Club De Crémant, Butter Bird is positioning chicken and Crémant as the next iconic dining duo, offering a more versatile and affordable take on luxury casual dining.
