The Pen and Pencil Celebrate 10 Years in Style

Iconic bar and restaurant The Pen and Pencil celebrated 10 years on Tariff Street with an epic party on Saturday 27th September, featuring 10 hours of DJs and performances from Drag Race UK’s Banksie. There were also special offers throughout September, which will end on 30th.

Known as one of Manchester’s original bottomless brunch venues, The Pen and Pencil first landed in the Northern Quarter in 2015, bringing a taste of Manhattan to Manchester. Named after the infamous mid-20th century New York bar on East 45th Street (as seen on ‘Mad Men’), The Pen and Pencil knows how to party in style.

To celebrate a decade, The Pen & Pencil team (who also own Northern Quarter restaurant Bab) decided to throw one big party, and everyone was  invited!

From 2pm until late, there were 10 hours of DJs, including Banksie, Les Croasdaile, Mark Hogg, Danny Ward and A Deeper Groove. A special bottomless brunch offering served up limited edition cocktails on the day, and there were even free pints of Red Stripe handed out at 10pm.

The Pen and Pencil will be celebrating their birthday until the end of the month with exclusive September offers, including 50% off food every Monday, two cocktails for £10 every Wednesday, £10 burgers every Thursday, happy hour all night every Friday, 10 dishes for £10 and two bloody Marys for £10 every Sunday, plus DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays.

One of the first to serve up bottomless brunch in Manchester, The Pen and Pencil’s legendary bottomless brunch takes place on the last Saturday of the month, between 1-6pm, and includes three hours of unlimited food and drink, plus a DJ (groups of six or more can request to book any time).

The Pen and Pencil is also available for private hire.
