Manchester city centre’s first ever dedicated Gin distillery in modern times is set to open it’s doors on the 18th August. Three Rivers Distillery can be found hidden away in a railway arch in the vibrant Green Quarter. Adding to the growing popularity of local craft spirits, such as Zymurgorium, it is clear that a gin revolution is taking over Manchester.. and we’re definitely not complaining!
Manchester’s Three Rivers Gin acquired its name from the Irwell, Irk and Medlock rivers that brought the industrial revolution to Manchester and made it the city it is today. While at the distillery we felt truly proud of the city and history behind the brand.
The distillery offers visitors the unique opportunity to appreciate and participate in the Gin Renaissance! Ticket holders take a tour of the distillery and production facilities, enjoy four complimentary drinks throughout the tour and finally create your own bottle of gin using the mini Alembic copper pot stills (pictured above)!
With over 50 botanicals to choose from to flavour your bottle of gin, the gin host will guide you through the subtleties of flavour combination and help you create the perfect 700ml bottle of gin.
We reckon this would be perfect for a stag or hen do, or simply something a bit different to do with friends. The growth of the local craft spirit scene is certainly exciting and we can’t wait to see more craft spirits emerging around Manchester!
