Hermès is delighted to announce the opening of its new store at Selfridges, Exchange Square in the heart of Manchester. This store now set over 2 floors, offers double the space to present a wider selection of the Hermès collections and allows the introduction of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and shoes for the first time at Selfridges.
The ground floor houses silk, fashion accessories, perfume and leather goods and contains a dedicated area for the Hermès home collections. Light Cherrywood and a herringbone flooring create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. An area dedicated to jewellery and watches has been given a more intimate feel with the addition of mahogany stained Cherrywood.
A dramatic staircase takes the client on a route that scales both the inside of the store and the outer façade of the building. On arrival at the first floor customers will find both the women’s and men’s universes sitting comfortably side by side.
Hermès was founded as a harness and later saddle maker in Paris in 1837 and since then six generations of enterprising and passionate artisans have contributed to spreading its values: sourcing the finest materials, enriching the expertise of its artisans, and creating beautiful, timeless and innovative objects in a spirit of constant innovation. A family owned company, Hermès is managed by Chief Executive Officer, Axel Dumas, and its artistic direction is led by Pierre-Alexis Dumas, both sixth-generation family members.
