Champagne house creates a celebration of abundant life in urban landscape
Opening to the public on Friday 27th October is an interactive Garden of Wonder created by Perrier-Jouët at The Refuge, which is part of The Principal Hotel in Manchester. The garden is situated in the middle of an 18-seater table and guests will be able to interact with it whilst consuming Perrier-Jouët’s newest cuvee Blanc de Blancs NV.
Hamish Millar, Marketing Manager at Perrier-Jouët says “We are excited to launch the Garden of Wonder by Perrier-Jouët at The Refuge, Manchester. Perrier-Jouët has always had strong links with design and nature and what better way to launch our vivacious new cuvee Blanc de Blancs NV than within an area that is full of life and surprises in the beautifully light atmosphere of The Refuge Winter Garden. Reminiscent of our recent campaigns like L’Eden by Perrier-Jouët in 2016, the installation enchants through the tension of urban and nature, artistic substance and lifestyle.”
In a world that is becoming increasingly virtual and with urban life tending to be uniform and grey, nature is seen as a powerful means to escape and dream, fulfilling a craving for beauty, softness and a little wildness. Garden of Wonder by Perrier-Jouët brings to life the idea of utilizing nature to reintroduce beauty into urban environments.
This is brought into the garden by the flowers, plants, herbs, grasses, miniature trees and flowing water which are animated by a breeze that gently billows across them, rustling the grass and leaves. Above the garden, suspended from great branches of willow hang the sky gardens. Ferns and flowers with elegantly twisted branches create a canopy over the entire installation. This exquisite habitat will ignite the senses and encourage visitors to take a moment to carry the sustainability message beyond just the garden itself.
With a focus on sustainable beauty, the campaign draws on inspiration from the natural world, highlighting both the fragility and extraordinary strength and beauty of the earth. Garden of Wonder by Perrier-Jouët is underpinned by an overarching narrative focused on the environment and excitingly, guests can bring nature to life via augmented reality butterflies, bees, hummingbirds and dragonflies. The Garden of Wonder app is available to download for free on the Apple App store, or iPads are provided. This sits alongside a programme of ticketed events that will include talks, classes and champagne tastings.
Garden of Wonder by Perrier-Jouët at The Refuge, on the corner of Oxford Road and Whitworth Street, Manchester will be open to the public from Friday 27th October to Sunday 13th November.
