Celebrate the Best of Manchesters Busker Talent

The entries are in and the finalists have been selected but who will be crowned King or Queen of Manchester’s Got Busker Talent and walk away with £500 in vouchers?

On Sunday 19th November, International Men’s Day, 17 talented buskers will battle it out in front of a panel of esteemed judges in a live final at The Printworks, Manchester.

Survivors Manchester, the charity behind the event, is inviting Mancunians to come along and watch what promises to be an amazing live concert with Manchester’s best musical talent.

Judges of Manchester’s Got Busker Talent, will include the Survivors Manchester’s ambassadors, Edinburgh Fringe Award winning comedian Richard Gadd; UK based multi-genre DJ, Sam Thompson, aka BassDuckFresh; ex-professional football and founder of Offside Trust, Steve Walters, as well as journalist and ex-NME staff writer, Ally Fogg and Chair of Survivors Manchester, Craig Harris.

Duncan Craig, CEO and founder of Survivors Manchester, said: “We are overwhelmed by the phenomenal response that we have received for this event. We knew the standard of entries would be high and we haven’t been disappointed. Sunday’s final is guaranteed to be incredible!

“We would really like to invite everyone from across Manchester to come and support the talented finalists at The Printworks. The event is free to attend and takes place in the Pump Yard between 12noon and 4pm.”

The ‘Manchester’s Got Busker Talent’ event is raising awareness of #1BlueString, a global campaign, created by 1in6.org by asking guitarists at all levels, in all genres, to replace one of their six strings with a blue string to show support and solidarity for the 1 in 6 men who have experienced unwanted sexual violence, including abuse and assault.

Fred Booth, Centre Director of The Printworks, said: “When we first heard about the idea we thought it would be a great event and we couldn’t wait to get involved and support the amazing work Survivors Manchester does across the region.

“We hope Mancunians get behind the event and come down to support the musicians and we look forward to welcoming everyone to The Printworks this Sunday.”

Manchester’s Got Busker Talent will take place at The Printworks on Sunday 19th November, 12 noon until 4pm, and is free to attend.
