As we look to welcome in 2018, The Refuge by Volta has continued its exceptional reputation as one of Manchester’s most respected food destinations. Since its inception in 2016 it has relentlessly hosted a wide array of richly diverse music based events alongside its unfailing dedication to food and drink, with carefully crafted collaborations of friends and likeminded creative partnerships. 

 Guided at the helm by two of the citys most passionate restaurateurs, music men and all-round visionaries, Luke & Justinthis Christmas menu will see the Group Feasting Menu’ throughout December, a beautiful collection of ‘sleeves up, dig in’ dishes constructed for maximum culinary yuletide delight. A few examples include; fire-roasted Padrón peppers with Maldon salt, Turkey porchetta, cranberry and apricot stuffing, goose fat roast potatoes, cranberry-glazed pigs in blankets and much, much more. Feasting menus are served sharing style and priced at £29.50 per person. 

 The courtyard behind The Refuge has been turned into the Winterway Bar with the addition of a gorgeous airstream van serving mulled wine and prosecco. The bar will be opened till New Years Eve and is available for private hire as well for Christmas parties. 

 Take the pressure of cooking for the whole family on Christmas Day itself, and let The Refuge do it for you, with the Christmas Feast for the Table. An exquisite menu of all the festive classics lovingly prepared, with hand-carved Cheshire roast Turkey, roast beef, roast suckling pig or butternut squash, spinach and chestnut Wellington. Chocolate fondue or a Flaming Christmas pudding with brandy sauce to finish.

 New Year’s Eve at the Refuge will be hosting its flagship gathering – Come As You Are. An undeniable celebration of friendship, inclusivity and togetherness through music and dancing. The countdown to 2018 will be navigated by a selection of the UKs most respected and beloved artists and DJs, with support from local talent and a plethora of familiar faces. 

 Love Is The Message in the Public Bar will host a disco house party with Refuge residents, Paulette, Chris Massey, Joy Social and musical behemoth that is Balearic Mike as special guest. The pure unadulterated theatre and fabulousness that is Cha Cha Boudoir & Carmina will bring glamour for the eyes. 

Move Ya Body in The Basement will take you on heads down’ journey into the small hours hosted by Homoelectric with House of Decay, and will feature another legend and Come As You Are favourite, Kelvin Andrews, with the brilliant Homo resident duo of Will Tramp and Gina Breeze in support.

 For those looking to extend their evening with a specially prepared pre-party meal in The Refuge, ‘Dine & Dance’ tickets are available – starting at £40 per person – these must be pre-booked by emailing – The menu features many favourite dishes from The Refuge, including Warm fig, halloumi and balsamic, Fire-roasted Padrón peppers with Maldon salt. Lamb Shawarma, Tempura Prawns and much more. The special pudding menu also features old fashioned chocolate fondue to share with lots of sweet things to dip
