Music-lovers from across the North West are set to experience one of London’s top nights out, as The Piano Works comes up North for a one-off Friday night bash, Songify Live.
On 23 March, the popular event will take over Manchester’s iconic Victoria Warehouse to offer partygoers an evening of non-stop live music – with all songs requested by the audience.
The unique concept sees attendees take control by writing their requests on napkins, before the band – consisting of two singing pianists, accompanied by a drummer, guitarist, base player and horn player – brings the audience’s favourite songs to life on stage.
Amie Williams, music director at The Piano Works, said: “This will be our first time headlining in Manchester so we’re really excited to bring our night to the city and let a new audience experience the show. It’s always a thrill putting the power into the hands of the audience as you never know what song’s coming next. It’s great for the audience, too, as they can guarantee that their favourite tunes will get played, and not just off a track as with other nights – it’s all completely live. It’s definitely a night you don’t want to miss.”
The Manchester event, proceeds from which will go to charity Prevent Breast Cancer, will feature street food, pop-up stalls and the chance to win a host of exclusive prizes. Revelers will also be able to bump their songs to the top of the queue with a special pink request napkin, available in return for a £5 donation to the charity.
Suzanna Dhawan, events manager at Prevent Breast Cancer, said: “Songify Live is no doubt going to be the most eclectic and vibrant gig of the season and we’re proud to be part of such a unique event. We’re really buzzing to have one of London’s top nights make its debut in our hometown. The Piano Works is one of the most popular nights in the capital so I’m sure, with Manchester being the party city it is, that it’ll go down a storm!”
Tickets for the event – which include entrance, a welcome drink, unlimited song requests and the chance to win unique prizes – cost £35 and are available to buy from http://www.preventbreastcancer.org.uk/events/songify-live.
