On April 12th, outstanding regional pubs across the UK celebrated as the winners of the National Pub & Bar Awards were revealed. Despite only opening last October, The Bay Horse Tavern claimed the prestigious title of ‘Best Pub in Greater Manchester’.

Hosted by the Pub & Bar Magazine, the National Pub & Bar Awards aims to distinguish pubs that demonstrate exceptional creativity and energy. 94 pubs across the UK’s cities, towns and villages were selected as the best in their county.

On Tuesday the 23rd. May, representatives of each venue will attend the National Pub & Bar Awards grand finale at BAFTA, London, where 15 regional winners and the coveted title of National Pub & Bar of the Year will be announced.

The Bay Horse Tavern, situated on Thomas Street in Northern Quarter, provides the perfect location to eat, drink and socialise. Serving the finest quality pub grub and an extensive selection of wines, spirits and locally produced beers, The Bay Horse Tavern encompasses all the great aspects of a traditional pub with contemporary twists throughout.
Lyndon Higginson, director of The Liars Club Group was responsible for the design concept of The Bay Horse Tavern, aimed to construct a ‘modern take’ on the humble local boozer, and create a pub where everyone could feel at home. Dubbed as The Rovers Return meets Soho House, The Bay Horse Tavern offers everything expected of a local pub, combining both traditional and modern.

Speaking on the award, Lyndon Higginson said: “To be open just six months and picking up awards like this is nothing short of incredible. The Bay Horse Tavern was something a little different for us and we really wanted to establish it as a super cool and chilled modern pub that served amazing food and drink. I feel like we can certainly say ‘mission accomplished’ from the incredible feedback we’ve received since opening and can safely say we’ve got plenty more to come.”

The Bay Horse Tavern is open 11am-12am Sunday to Thursday and 11am-1am Friday and Saturday.
