With a huge bank holiday coming up for the Platinum Jubilee weekend, Manchester’s leading destination Ducie Street Warehouse and Native Manchester have announced a jam-packed programming to present the Scandalous Affair which will take place from Wednesday 1st until Sunday 5th June 2022.
The long weekender will see live performances, from cabaret to drag queens, and the finest DJs gracing the venue – both inside the warehouse-chic venue and the beautiful South-facing terrace. Alongside this entertainment, the space will be full of delicious food, highlights include the ultimate BBQ experience on the terrace which will be available until sundown on Wednesday 1st until Saturday 4th June.
On Wednesday 1st June, Manchester’s much-loved Reform Radio will be taking over the decks to present their residents Jasmine Rowland, Bob Cojones (Regal Disco), SNO and High Hoops from 5pm until 12am. Expect the best in disco, house, soul, afrobeat and everything in between.
Presenting Queens of the North with decadent décor by Manchester based artist Sally Gilford, part of the Salford Makers collective, the warehouse will shine a light on an all-female line-up on Thursday 2nd June from 1pm until midnight, featuring Eves’ Drop Collective with Andrea Trout, Ruby Swallow and Sahar.
Continuing on Friday 3rd June from 1pm until 8pm, Manchester’s local Good Afternoon collective will take over the warehouse to present feel good music from disco, funk, house and soul – with DJs Nancy Wilson, Erin Millar and James Sizen Bell. Followed by Liverpool’s favourite drag collective, Eat Me, taking over from 9pm until 1am.
On Saturday 4th June, Ducie Street Warehouse will present its famous big disco brunch at the restaurant to celebrate Jubilee in style with bottomless cocktails and Moët & Chandon champagne. To coincide with the occasion, drag queens will be dressed up in Royal Attire alongside The Nialist and Fat Britney on sound-track duty from 11am until 4pm. The party will move to the lounge and the terrace from 4pm until 1am to present Supernature Disco – with text request line DJs on from 9pm, where guests can request tracks to be played via a text.
Closing off the weekender on Sunday 5th June, the ‘Recharge & Reset’ brunch menu will be back on the table – featuring Turmeric fried eggs with kale, tenderstem broccoli, sweet corn fritter & pomegranate seeds; Mango on French toast with coconut yogurt, hazelnuts & puffed rice; Mixed grain & almond milk porridge with poached plums. Alongside the warehouse’s Sunday with Sides menu, featuring all the classic roasts, trimmings and the warehouse’s menu dedicated to cauliflower cheese.
DJ sets on Sunday 5th June will be on from midday until 7pm, finishing the weekend off in style – playing an eclectic mix of soul, groove and dance music from Soul Twins.
