MORE PRIZES ALONG THE WAY
The big trip and Social Darts for life aren’t the only things up for grabs. From today, as the countdown to a billion truly kicks off, every Flight Club venue across the UK will be surprising and delighting guests with daily treats, from complimentary drinks to bar tabs.
MANCHESTER’S SOCIALISING HABITS REVEALED
Over the last decade, having hosted more than 14.4 million people across 12 different cities in the UK alone, Flight Club knows a thing or two about the nation’s socialising habits. As the billion darts mark approaches, today the Social Darts bar releases its inaugural Flight Club Social Index, revealing the lay of the land when it comes to going out and getting competitive.
The Index, based on Flight Club’s proprietary booking and gaming data, reveals some surprising insights into the socialising styles of the UK’s key cities, including Manchester. The results reinforce Manchester’s wild night out reputation as Mancunians are officially crowned the UK’s #1 “Early Bird” socialisers, kicking the party off early to maximise their hours of fun.
The Competition Kings:
In a result that might raise a few eyebrows in the North, Manchester has been named the UK’s second least competitive city. Clocking in at 297 darts per hour, Mancunians are taking a far more measured approach to their play compared to Bristolians, who lead the pack with 406 darts per hour. While Manchester might be prioritising cocktails and company over the scoreboard, Mancunians need to dig out their competitive edge and pick up the pace if they want to climb out of the bottom two and take on those at the top.
The Early Birds:
Reaffirming its status as a 24-hour party city, Manchester has officially been crowned the UK’s “Early Bird” capital. Topping the charts for the highest percentage of bookings pre-5 pm, Mancunians are the true masters of the daytime social, making the very most of every hour the city has to offer. While they lead the way in afternoon energy, their 12th-place ranking in the Home-by-10-Heroes category (5–8 pm) indicates that once the cocktails have been sunk and the darts have been thrown, the Manchester crowd is simply moving the party to its next destination. Manchester proves it’s a city that knows how to maximise its social hours.
The Mid-Week Masters:
Further underlining their party-hard reputation, the data shows that Mancunians don’t shy away from going out on a school night. The city places fifth in the Mid-Week Masters rankings for Tuesday-to-Thursday socialising. Manchester’s mid-week antics match up with the likes of Birmingham and Newcastle (third and fourth respectively), while London and Bristol are the true Mid-Week Masters, placing first and runner up.
The Social Butterflies:
Manchester lives up to its friendly, sociable name, ranking as the fourth most sociable city in the UK, based on average group sizes. Birmingham takes the top spot for head count per visit, while at the other end of the scale, Liverpool and Oxford prefer to keep things more intimate, ranking at the very bottom for group sizes.
Manchester’s Favourite Game:
In Manchester, and across every single UK city in fact, Demolition is revealed as Flight Club’s most-played game of the year. The fast-paced game sees players aim to demolish a virtual tower of blocks, reducing their score from 180 to zero. It’s one of seven games in total at Flight Club, including the brand-new Limbo, where, like the classic party game, players must go lower than the previous player.
The Social Super Stars:
Every city has its stand-out-stars but it’s Manchester’s Ben W who takes the top spot for the UK as he is crowned the nation’s most dedicated player, having clocked up an impressive 79 visits to Flight Club.
Steve Moore, CEO & Founder at Flight Club, said, “Reaching one billion darts is a massive moment for us. It’s a testament to every single guest who has stepped up to the oche to celebrate, compete, and have fun. We wanted to mark this with something truly epic – a trip to a Flight Club destination of your choice and free darts for life feels like the right way to thank the people who made this possible. We’ll be celebrating every single throw as we head towards the big one, and we can’t wait to see which city ends up claiming the honour of the billionth dart.”
