New bar concept Luella’s is set to open its doors on Manchester’s Deansgate in October transforming the former Côte Brasserie site into a new destination for cocktails, music and late-night entertainment.

With a capacity of 70 seated guests and up to 250 standing, Luella’s has been designed as a space that moves from early evening drinks into late-night celebrations. The venue will open from 5pm until late on Fridays and 3pm until late on Saturdays, with a programme of local, London and international DJs providing the soundtrack throughout the weekend. Guest DJ’s will also join the lineup across key dates playing house music with Afro and techno influences, as well as a blend of R&B.

The venue has undergone an extensive fit-out with the interiors designed by Caroll Designs, whose portfolio includes San Carlo, Neighbourhood, Victors and a number of other high-profile destinations.

Ken Caroll, the designer, has taken inspiration from elements of Parisian architecture and nightlife and brought them across the Channel to the heart of Manchester. His design for Luella’s combines bold detailing with a rich deep red material palette, wallpapers and chandeliers creating an intimate, high-energy setting suited to both early evening and late-night occasions.

Interior finishes include Rosso Lavante marble facias, softly illuminated by Payson Sconce wall lamps from Ralph Lauren, adding warmth to the space whilst complementing the venue’s overall aesthetic. A selection of bold artwork will also feature from local designers adding to the Mancunian element of the venue.

Cocktails will sit at the heart of the Luella’s experience, with a menu featuring a selection of signature serves inspired by the people who know Luella best. Each drink has been designed to be a little portrait of friendship, stories, quirks and moments shared. Highlights include ‘Margot’, made with Agave blanco, burned lime, red chilli, blue agave and Tajin, alongside ‘Luella’ combining Japanese yuzu, white strawberry, wild woodland fraise, watermelon essence, and Madagascar vanilla. A selection of bar snacks will also be available. 

The new venture is owned by hospitality veterans Sam Gough and Amar Ali. They said: “Luella’s has been created as a space with a strong Parisian influence, where people can come together across the weekend to enjoy great music, a beautiful setting, and a place to drink and socialise. We wanted to create somewhere that feels special the moment you walk through the door, whether you’re joining us for an early evening drink or staying with us late into the night. We’re incredibly excited to bring Luella’s to Deansgate next month and really looking forward to welcoming people into the venue.”

Luella’s launches on 9th October and will be open Fridays from 5pm until late and Saturdays from 3pm until late.
