FIRST LOOK: THE ALPINE FONDUE SPOT WITH EDIBLE BREAD BOWLS THAT’S SET TO TAKE MANCHESTER’S CHRISTMAS MARKETS BY STORM

Molten cheese, sourdough boules and cranberry sauce: meet the Alpine newcomer serving up Manchester’s cosiest Christmas Market bite.

Think you know the Manchester Christmas Market food scene by heart? Think again – there’s a new kid on the block, and it’s one that everyone will be queueing for this year.

Fondue is gearing up for its first year at the Manchester Christmas Markets, introducing its Alpine fondue bowls to Manchester’s festive foodies for the very first time from Friday 6th November.

Located in Cathedral Gardens, the team will be serving up molten fondue cheese inside a sourdough bread boule, paired with dipping croutons and a host of other seasonal toppings.

Visitors can opt for the Hot Honey Chicken Bread Bowl, which sees signature fondue accompanied by three chicken goujons drizzled in hot honey, or the Traditional Bread Bowl – complete with dipping croutons and cornichons in true Swiss style.

The jewel in the crown, however, is the Festive Bread Bowl, served with pulled duck and cranberry sauce for that ultimate Christmassy twist.

All bowls can be ordered with a side of garlic and herb potatoes – the perfect accompaniment to a wintery classic.

And the crème de la crème of Fondue’s foodie ritual? Eating the bread bowl once all that fondue has been polished off!
